STATE HISTORIC CONTEXT DOCUMENT
Like any other enterprise, The Archeology Department of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History has a stragegic plan for the advancement of our understanding and
knowledge about state archaeology. This plan aspires to map a course for future study and exploration by defining both what is known and what is yet to be learned. It is a
compendium of the results of extensive research done by a team whose mission was to analyze every article, book, and thesis pertaining to Mississippi archaeology, and then
assimilate the relevant components into a knowledge reporsitory. Most of this plan is advanced within the pages of The State Historic Context Document
which is available for viewing and download via the following links.
